Personas

Developing personas about users can help developers to understand their users (Adlin & Pruitt, 2010). In that understanding, they can also be used to figure out in what situations are which users going to do a certain task and to plan for it (Atzeni, Cameroni, Faily, Lyle, Flechais, 2011).

Good personas rely upon good data from user research, and so personas should only be developed with sufficient information about real users (Adlin & Pruitt, 2010). This user research information should include actual users goals, motivations, business objectives, etc. (UXPA, 2011)
